These best practices inspired our Reading Culture Awards, which recognize and reward schools as student participation increases throughout the school year.
We’ve learned that the most successful librarians and media specialists have one thing in common: supportive teachers. Behind every thriving reading challenge, there’s a teacher cheering students on, sharing book recommendations, and modeling a love of reading. And so, we’re expanding our Reading Culture Awards with a brand-new recognition—the Teacher Champion Awards, to celebrate these essential reading supporters.
Here’s the fun part: when a teacher has 10 or more students actively logging their reading in Beanstack, they’ll earn a special prize: a free Benny plushie to keep the reading spirit alive in their classroom.
And it’s working. Bennys flew off our shelves the first week, landing in classrooms nationwide and spreading reading excitement. In fact, the program is so popular that we’re almost out of plushies. Not to worry—more are on the way!

Getting your hands on your Teacher Reward is simple! Just follow a few easy steps to track your students’ reading activity and claim your prize.
- Teachers can track their active students in their admin dashboard
- The first three teachers per school who reach 10 active students will receive a coupon code for a free Benny the Bean plushie
- Coupon codes are redeemable at the Beanstore
