With Daily Reading Goals, schools and districts can:

Taking Gamification to the Next Level
Beanstack is built to make reading feel motivating, rewarding, and fun. Gamification plays a big role in that experience by using simple, game-inspired elements like badges, streaks, and progress tracking to encourage consistent reading.
These tools work because students love seeing their progress, earning recognition, and feeling a sense of accomplishment. Goals help make reading visible and actionable. Instead of simply logging minutes, students will now see how their reading contributes to their personal daily goal.
We’ve seen the impact of goal setting at the school and district level, and Daily Reading Goals brings that same motivation to the student level. By giving each reader a target that feels right for them, educators can make Beanstack even more encouraging and engaging.
Flexibility for Your School or District
Daily Reading Goals is designed to support the way your school or district already manages Beanstack. School leaders can enable the feature, set a default daily reading goal for students, and decide which staff members should have permission to create or update individual student goals.
For Districts: Administrators can enable Daily Reading Goals across all schools, making it easier to support consistent goal-setting practices while still giving schools and educators room to personalize goals based on student needs.
For Schools: Media Specialist Plus users can enable the feature for their school, set a default goal for all students, and specify which additional teachers can update their students’ goals.
What Students See
Daily Reading Goals gives students a clear, encouraging view of their own progress. From their reader dashboard, students will see a banner tracking their daily reading goal that updates in real time as they log. After logging, they’ll also see a summary of their reading achievements, celebrating the progress made towards their goal and any badges they’ve earned.
Finally, students will see stars in their Reading Log for each day they reach their goal. This creates a more personalized experience for students, provides proof of their consistency over time, and helps them connect their reading activity to a goal their teacher set just for them.
