This April, we’re inviting public and school libraries nationwide to join us in our second annual April Library Love Challenge! From National Library Week to Diá, April is a time to celebrate libraries and librarians, and this challenge is designed to do just that. It’s an opportunity to encourage reading, promote library resources, and celebrate everything you do for your communities.
Celebrate Your Staff & Resources
Participants can earn badges by logging books or minutes, attending programs, and exploring unique library resources. Special activities—like thanking a librarian or reading with a young person—highlight the many ways libraries support learning, connection, and joy.
This challenge is about more than logging reading; it’s about community connection, too! Encourage your readers to celebrate National Library Week from April 6-12 and National Library Workers Day on April 8th. Collect gratitude and shoutouts and share them with staff members as a reminder that they make an important impact each and every day.
Prizes
The April Library Love Challenge runs from April 1-30. All participating libraries and schools are eligible to join the challenge for a chance to win prizes, awarded to the top-performing communities:
🏆 Grand Prize (1 library and 1 school)
A $50 gift card + a box of Benny the Bean plushies
🌟 Honorable Mention (5 libraries and 5 schools)
A $50 gift card
Winners will be selected based on participation, logging stats, and community involvement.
Join Us This April
