Measure reading motivation, supercharge reading habits

Beanstack’s Reading Motivation Index (RMI) builds on work conducted by the National Reading Research Center to measure reading motivation factors and make individualized recommendations.

This research proves that student scores are correlated with reading frequency and academic outcomes. The RMI will be the first of its kind, providing educators a guide to supercharge reading habits.

Educators gain practical insight into the factors that influence students’ reading behaviors, helping them support student choice, strengthen reading habits over time, and monitor growth, without adding instructional pressure.

Students experience the RMI as a fun, personality-style survey rather than an assessment. They discover their reader identity—like The Lion, The Climber, or The Detective—and connect with reading experiences that feel personal and motivating.
